Today in Leicester was amazing. Big pickets & a huge rally. Sadly there was also tears as @leicesterucu members recounted why they were striking. This has to stop! Things have to change! VCs, hold your head in shame for not working harder with us. #UCUStrikesBack #UCUStrike
Fancy dress day on the Leicester UCU picket, so I’ve dressed as a caricature of myself. 🐆💋
Sunday is a great day to fill in your postal ballot. ☑️Complete the ballot ❌ & the statement. ☑️Put them in envelope A & B as per instructions. ☑️Put envelope A into envelope B. ☑️Post 📮💌 #GeneralElection
Reunited with @marthafoulds. A story of cute in 3 parts.
Spotted on the Liverpool - London train.
🥁Ed Hall update🥁 Behold our beautiful handmade UCU banner. I’m so thrilled with it. Ed has also requested to walk with us when it gets its first outing💘. Ed has been making trade union campaign and exhibition banners for 30 years. They are handmade, stitched, appliqued and often with painted scenes as centrepieces. We are so lucky he agreed to make ours.
Yesterday I spoke at an event and discussed women in the trade union movement. So today I’m posting a ‘Latergram’ at Nottingham College UCU picket with @janetfarrarucu ✊⚡️💅🏻 I think we look pretty cheery despite the pouring rain. Since this pic was taken ACAS talks have started between the Notts college branch and the college. Let’s hope the college play with a straight bat this time and we can reach a final settlement. #throwbackthursday #UCU #FE #Nottingham
‪Autumn update: Lenny Kravitz mode activated. ‬ ‪P.S welcome to the Carlow St lift. ‬
Week three of the GS tour done. I’ve spoken directly to approx 1000 members about the importance of our 2 national HE ballots. These meetings make a difference. Grassroots campaigning is hard. It’s time consuming. It requires us to talk to each other. Social media is important in spreading messages, but nothing replaces personal contact. Please speak to everyone you know about our ballots. Encourage them to vote. Encourage them to campaign.
